Frequently Asked Questions - Grants

Please reach us at if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Indigo Hope Foundation is a family run, charitable organization dedicated to providing grants to organizations, mostly based in the Upstate of South Carolina, focused mainly in areas around addiction, homelessness, at-risk youth, veterans and first responders.

We currently do a semi-annual grant process where we accept grants during the months of March and September and award the grants in May and November.  Additional grant opportunities may occur at any time during the year, so please provide us your email to be notified when these opportunities arise.

Please click on the Grants page (top right) for more details regarding our grant process.

We provide grants for as little as $250, and as large as $100,000+.  We evaluate each need and impact to determine what we award.

Our goal as a foundation is to not only provide financial assistance to organizations, but to also help in other ways and get to know the organizations we support.  While our goal is to make a difference in our own community, we realize there are other very impactful organizations not located in our immediate area that we may be able to assist.  If you aren't sure, we recommend you get in contact with us and discuss your organization before applying.

Currently the foundation is not accepting outside donations.  We recommend that if you want to support an organization financially, you donate directly to them.  If you would like a list of organizations we currently support, please contact us and we'll be happy to provide you with a list of well-deserving organizations that are making a difference in our community.

There are several reasons why a request may not be funded in full. As more organizations across the Upstate of South Carolina apply for support, our budget may not allow us to meet every need. In addition, we often take a gradual approach to funding—seeking to first build a relationship and better understand an organization’s mission before providing larger levels of support. Requests that represent a significant portion of an organization’s annual budget may be considered too large for initial funding.

While we recognize the importance of your organization’s mission, it may not align closely with our funding priorities and core values. This does not diminish the value of your work or its impact in the community. Our focus is to support organizations that directly reflect our mission, and unfortunately, we are not able to fund every worthy initiative. We sincerely encourage you to continue your efforts and wish you success in advancing your mission.

To strengthen your application, we recommend:

  • Start modestly: Avoid requesting an amount that represents a large portion of your total annual budget, especially if this is your first request with us.
  • Demonstrate impact: Clearly explain how our contribution will make a measurable difference in your organization and the community.  We cannot emphasize enough how important this is for our review process.
  • Pay attention to details: Carefully review and proofread your application to ensure accuracy, clarity, and professionalism.
